Which one is for you

DefendDomain compared to BforeAI

BforeAI sells predictive attack intelligence, forecasting which infrastructure is likely to be used against you before it is.

We call you within one working day. Or book a 30-minute demo: enough for us to give you a clear annual price for your domains.

BforeAI at a glance

BforeAI sells predictive attack intelligence, forecasting domains likely to be used maliciously and feeding that into Digital Risk Protection (DRP) and network blocking workflows.

DefendDomain works from observed evidence on your own domain footprint, which is a different basis for the same ambition of getting ahead of the attack.

BforeAI is built around
Predictive attack intelligence
Typically sold to
Mid-market to enterprise
Typical annual cost
Published base subscription plus packs, with worked customer examples in the six figures

Choose BforeAI if

  • You want predictive intelligence on infrastructure beyond your own domain footprint.
  • Third-party and supply chain risk is part of the same mandate and the same budget.
  • You have enterprise budget and a team that can consume a threat feed.
  • Feeding predictions into an existing SOC workflow is the outcome you are buying.

Choose DefendDomain if

  • You want every alert grounded in something observed on your own domains, with the scoring shown.
  • You need to know when a lookalike of your domain is set up to send email, from what is observed on it rather than predicted.
  • Somebody copying your website is a real risk, and you want the website marker and web searches for your wording covering it.
  • You want one annual plan rather than a base, packs, add-ons and a guarantee.

What BforeAI does well, and who should buy them

Taken from what BforeAI publishes about its own product. If this is the shape of your problem, they are a reasonable buy and we will say so.

  1. A genuine attempt at getting ahead

Predicting malicious infrastructure rather than reacting to it is a hard, worthwhile problem and they have built a real business around it. We agree with the ambition even where our method differs.

  2. Published pricing, which is rare here

They publish a base subscription and worked examples of what customers of different sizes have paid. In a category where nine of the eleven vendors here publish no price, that is a genuine service to buyers and we would like to see more of it.

  3. Third-party and supply chain scope

Their packaging extends to third-party risk, which is a wider mandate than ours and the right shape for a security team responsible for a supplier estate.

Where DefendDomain goes deeper

We work on one problem: web addresses made to look like yours, and copies of your website. We find them, tell you which can send email or show a copy of your site, and get them taken down when they are used against you.

Evidence you can check, not a forecast you cannot

Every alert we raise is grounded in something observed: a registration, a DNS or WHOIS change, an MX or DKIM record appearing, a certificate in a public log, your content loading somewhere it should not. Each alert shows the signals behind it and how much each added, so a technical buyer can check the reasoning.

Your footprint, not a global feed

We generate around 500 lookalikes for each of your domains, weighted towards names used in real attacks, including near-variants of any attack already confirmed against you, and re-check them every hour. The list is built from your own domains rather than from a global feed you have to filter down.

One plan, not a base plus packs

Their published base subscription alone, before any packs, is a five-figure annual commitment, and their worked examples run into the hundreds of thousands. Our Pro plan is one annual price for the number of domains you protect, with unlimited takedowns and no packs to add.

The same questions, answered for both of us

What the product is built around

DefendDomain

Finding web addresses made to look like yours and getting them taken down: lookalike domains, new certificates, copies of your website and of your wording, plus a daily check of your own domains

BforeAI

Predictive attack intelligence and automated disruption, with third-party and supply chain packs

Lookalike domains that never host a website

DefendDomain

We check the email set-up (MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records) of every registered lookalike. When one is set up to send email, we flag it, even if it has no website

BforeAI

Predicting malicious infrastructure ahead of use is the published core, with a claimed lead time over conventional threat intelligence. Checking the email set-up (MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records) of registered lookalikes of your own domains, and flagging when one can send email, is not listed in their public material as of September 2026

When someone copies your website

DefendDomain

The optional website marker (a small script or a 1×1 image on the pages you choose) reports when a copy of a page loads somewhere else, and we search the web for distinctive phrases from your site

BforeAI

A website marker on your pages, and web searches for your wording, are not listed in their public material as of September 2026

Takedowns

DefendDomain

Unlimited on Pro and Enterprise. One click sends the evidence to up to 12 places at once, with automatic follow-ups to the host, registrar and registry

BforeAI

Automated disruption and takedown are published capabilities. Their base subscription publicly includes a fixed number of takedowns per year, with unlimited takedowns in the higher defence package

Your own domains

DefendDomain

A daily check of your own domains (email security, DNS and takeover risk, certificates, website settings, exposed files), graded A to F, with a fix for each finding

BforeAI

Not part of the published platform. The orientation is outward at predicted infrastructure

How you buy it

DefendDomain

Pro: an annual plan priced by the number of domains you protect, where you approve each takedown. Enterprise: priced to your needs, with our analysts running the takedowns

BforeAI

A published base subscription plus packs, add-ons and a guarantee, with worked customer examples published on their site. The base subscription alone is a five-figure annual commitment before any packs

The facts your vendor review will ask for

About DefendDomain only. Check the same points with any vendor on your shortlist.

What we check
Around 500 lookalikes of each of your domains across 240+ domain endings, re-checked every hour. 100+ public certificate logs, watched as entries appear. Copies of your website and of your wording. Your own domains, checked daily and graded A to F.
Where a takedown goes
One click sends the evidence to up to 12 places at once: the registrar, the host, the email provider the domain sends through, an abuse-report network, blocklists and threat feeds, browser warning lists and search engines. Not every place applies to every attack: a domain with no website has nothing for a search engine to remove.
Follow-up
Automatic. We chase the host and registrar again at 48 and 96 hours, go to the registry at 120 and 168 hours, and tell you if nothing has moved after 30 days. Most takedowns take between 2 and 96 hours.
Who approves a takedown
On Pro, someone on your side confirms it is a live attack and approves it with one click. On Enterprise, our analysts check every alert and run the takedowns. Takedowns are unlimited on both.
Alerts
Email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, SMS, webhook, Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel and Wazuh.
Security and data
ISO 27001 certified (certificate 535732026) and Cyber Essentials certified. UK GDPR and EU GDPR. Our main database is hosted in London (AWS eu-west-2).
Which plan suits whom
Pro suits companies that approve takedowns themselves. Enterprise covers unlimited domains and brands, run by our analysts.
Price and contract
Pro is an annual plan with 5 domains included, priced by the number of domains you protect. Enterprise is priced to your needs. Both are annual: a 12-month minimum, renewing each year unless you give 30 days' notice. We do not publish the Pro price yet.

We call you within one working day to talk it through.

What each of us costs

Most vendors in this category do not publish a price list. This is how each of us charges.

What BforeAI publishes
BforeAI publishes tiered pricing, a base subscription with add-on packs, which makes it one of the few vendors in this set you can budget for before speaking to anyone.
What moves the number
Intelligence feeds price on volume and enrichment. Blocking is only as useful as the systems you can push it into, so check the integrations before the tier.
How DefendDomain charges
Detection, evidence and takedowns are priced together, by the number of domains you protect. You are not buying a feed and then buying somewhere to send it, and there is no per-takedown charge on top. Ask for a pricing call and we call you within one working day.

What moving actually involves

There is no software to install and no data to move. Lookalike monitoring, certificate watching and the daily check of your own domains need only your domain names. The website marker is optional: a small script or a 1×1 image on the pages you choose.

  1. Step 1

Decide whether you want a feed or an outcome

A predictive feed lists infrastructure to block at your own network. DefendDomain shows which lookalikes of your domains exist, with the evidence, and gets them taken down when they are used against you. A feed needs somewhere to go; a takedown request goes to the companies that can switch the domain off.

  2. Step 2

    Check who does the removal

Blocking a domain at your own perimeter protects your staff. It does nothing for your customers or your suppliers, who are the people a lookalike is usually aimed at. Getting the domain taken down is what protects them.

  3. Step 3

Run both if the budget allows

They are complementary rather than competing, and we have no objection to sitting next to a good feed. If the budget only covers one this year, note that a BforeAI subscription and ours will rarely share a renewal date, so you can sequence them across two budget cycles instead of choosing outright.

Questions buyers ask us about BforeAI

BforeAI publishes pricing. What does DefendDomain cost?

We do not publish the Pro price yet, because it depends on how many domains you protect and whether you want us to run it for you. What is fixed: Pro is an annual plan with 5 domains included, takedowns are unlimited and go to up to 12 places, and there is no per-incident charge. If you are comparing a published tier against an unpublished price, ask for a pricing call early.

Is prediction better than detection?

They answer different questions. Prediction estimates which infrastructure is likely to be used against somebody. Detection establishes what has actually happened on your footprint: this lookalike of your domain was registered on this date, these mail records appeared on it yesterday, this certificate was issued for it an hour ago. We work from the second, because a technical buyer can check it and because it is what a registrar or host will act on.

How early does DefendDomain actually catch things?

It can start at registration. The lookalikes we generate for your domains are on our list before anyone registers them, and we re-check each one every hour, so a registration, a new website or a new email set-up (such as an MX record being added) brings it back to your attention. We also watch public certificate logs as entries appear, and a new certificate is often one of the last steps before a site goes live. A takedown needs something to point at, so the evidence is gathered and ready when a domain is used against you.

Do you use AI in detection?

Yes, in specific places you can check. AI helps generate lookalike names based on real attacks, compares a suspect site with your real one, sorts certificate-log matches against what your business does to cut out noise, and checks for reworded copies of your content. Every alert still shows the signals behind it and how much each added.

Free scan. No account, no card details.

Settle it on your own domain

The clearest way to compare two detection products is to point both at the same domain. Start with ours: the free scan checks 150+ lookalikes of your domain in a couple of minutes and emails you what it found.

  • Typos, other endings and added words, such as yourcompany-invoices.com
  • Which ones are registered, and which are set up to send email as you
  • The report in your inbox, usually in a couple of minutes. No account, no card details, no sales call.

When the scan is done we ask for a work email to send the report to. Gmail, Outlook.com and other free addresses are not accepted.
