Stop the scams that use your store’s name

Copies of your store, fake customer service pages and texts about parcels all run on a web address like yours, such as yourbrand-sale.com. When your customers lose money, they complain to you. We find those addresses and get the ones used against you taken down. In our e-commerce case, 14 fake stores were taken down in the brand’s first two weeks.

Already have fake stores live?

Report a live attack

Free to report. No account needed. One of our team calls you back, usually the same working day. When you report, list every fake store you know of.

Check for lookalike domains

Checks 150+ lookalikes of your domain in a couple of minutes and shows which are registered. No account, no card. The free scan does not look for copies of your store. We email the report to a work address, not Gmail or Outlook.com.

Out of hours, email security@defenddomain.com.

Every one of these scams needs a web address, so we watch the ones that look like yours.

When a fake store appears on one, you get an alert with the evidence a registrar or host asks for, and we get the store taken down.

Where fake stores show up, and what we can do

We go after the stores that marketplace and ad reporting cannot reach: the ones on a web address of their own.

Not covered

Fakes on marketplaces

Fake products listed on Amazon, eBay or other marketplaces under your name.

We cannot remove listings. Use the marketplace's brand registry.

Not covered

Fake ads and social posts

Ads on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok that use your brand.

We cannot remove an ad. Report it to the platform showing it, and send us the address it points to.

Where we help

Fake stores on addresses like yours

Your product pages copied onto a lookalike, taking payments or card details. It needs a web address and a security certificate before it can take an order.

We watch for both, on parked lookalikes too, because a parked address can become a store in minutes.

Fake stores and scams we find

  • Fake stores

    Fake stores selling your products

    yourbrand.shop

Your name on another ending, your product photos and a big discount. The order never arrives, or a fake does.

  • Fake websites

    Fake customer service pages

    yourbrand-support.com

A copy of your help page that gives customers a fake number or asks for their card again.

  • Text messages

    Fake delivery texts

    yourbrand-delivery.com

A text about a parcel that sends customers to a lookalike of your domain. We go after the site.

  • Lookalike domains

Typo domains that take your visitors

    yourbarnd.com

A typo of your web address that sends shoppers somewhere else.

To see how to spot a fake store, what to tell customers who paid one and how a takedown runs, read how we stop fake online stores.

Who it is for

In a small online business, one person reads the alerts and approves takedowns.

  • E-commerce and brand

Know when your store is copied

You hear when a lookalike of your domain shows a copy of your store, with screenshots and what to do next.

  • Customer service

    Something clear to tell customers

When a customer asks about a site like yours, you can check it against your alerts and tell them which is real.

  • Legal

    Evidence you can use

You can use the evidence pack in a domain dispute (UDRP) or a lawyer’s letter, though our takedowns need neither.

  • IT and security

Fake checkout pages found for you

A fake checkout takes your customers’ card details. We find the site and send the evidence to the companies that can switch it off.

What marketplace and ad reporting leave open

Keep using them. Here is what each one misses.

“We already have a brand-protection provider”

The brand in our e-commerce case had an enterprise one, and in the brand’s experience we went on to find more fake stores than that provider did.

Read the case study

“Google takes down fake ads”

Removing the ad leaves the website, and customers still reach it through search, social posts and shared links. We get the website itself taken down, whichever ad or post sent people to it.

What we send, and to whom

“Our customers know our real website”

Not new customers arriving from an ad. A copy uses your photos, prices and logo, and a phone screen hides most of the web address. We compare the copy with your store and get it taken down.

How copies of your site are found

“We registered similar domain names”

Worth doing for the obvious ones. There are 240+ domain endings, including .shop and .store, so nobody can buy them all. We watch the ones you did not buy and leave out the ones you did.

Why buying lookalike domains is not enough

How we find a fake store and get it taken down

Give us your store's domains. Nothing needs installing unless you choose the website marker.

Step 1

We list lookalikes of your store’s domain

Around 500 per domain: typos, your name plus a word such as -sale or -outlet, and other endings such as .shop or .store. Each one is re-checked every hour.

Step 2

We open the ones with a website

When a lookalike shows a website, we screenshot it and compare it with yours.

Step 3

We look for copies of your wording

We search the web for copies of your product descriptions and other wording, and the website marker (optional) tells us when a copy of a marked page loads somewhere else. Both catch a store on a name nobody would have predicted.

Step 4

You confirm, we report and follow up

One click sends the evidence to up to 12 places at once, including the registrar, the host, browser warning lists, and search engines to drop the store from search. We chase them automatically, tell you when the store is offline and keep watching after the takedown in case it comes back.

What a fake-store alert shows you

The lookalike, a screenshot of the store, and how closely it matches your real store. The evidence pack adds who registered the domain, where it is hosted and who handles its email, each with the time it was captured.

Findings are sorted automatically: threats are alerted, doubtful ones go on a watch list and the rest are marked safe. Nothing is reported until you confirm.

Alerts arrive by email, or in Slack, Microsoft Teams, SMS or a webhook. IT teams can also send them to Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel or Wazuh.

Questions online sellers ask

Yes, when the store is on a lookalike of your domain or copies your wording as well as your photos. A store on an unrelated address that copies only the photos is harder for us to find.

At the next hourly check, once the store is up on a lookalike we watch, or when its security certificate appears in the public logs. In our e-commerce case, seven fake stores were found within three days, six of them by certificate monitoring.
